Revolutionizing Retouching with Generative AI and Depth-Aware Editing
ON1 Photo RAW 2025 introduces new and powerful generative AI features that enhance the content-aware capabilities of both the crop and new Generative Erase tools. These updates enable photographers to extend canvases more naturally and remove large distractions, like people or cars, while filling in missing details with realistic results. Additionally, the new Depth Masks feature utilizes powerful AI models to infer the depth within a scene, allowing photographers to blend or apply adjustments or effects based on the scene's depth. This adds a layer of control that hasn't existed before, making effects like lens blur and other adjustments more natural.
Automated Editing Tasks for Removing Common Distractions
The introduction of automatic detection and removal of common distractions, like sensor dust and power lines are also new features coming in this release.
Enhanced Color Editing & Layout Creation
ON1 Photo RAW 2025 expands its color editing capabilities with two new filters. The Edit Color filter offers precise hue, saturation, and brightness control within specific color ranges. The new Match Color filter allows photographers to apply the color from one image to another, making it the perfect tool to mimic others' looks and style. Additionally, improvements to the new canvas dialog simplify the creation of layouts, making it easier to set common sizes and add your photos in one step.
Streamlined Organization
Photo organization will also be enhanced with the new Target Album feature, allowing users to set an album as a target and quickly add photos to the album with a shortcut key. This will help streamline sorting through extensive collections of images, making album management faster.
To further enhance the organization of your photos, ON1 Photo RAW 2025 introduces Stacking. This feature is handy for organizing brackets, bursts, and other grouped shots, reducing clutter and speeding up the culling process.
What’s Coming Next
Looking forward, ON1 is excited to reveal several features and updates that will arrive soon after the initial release of version 2025. These include Generative Replace, allowing users to seamlessly add new elements to their photos by simply describing what they want. The Super Select AI tool for selections will also be enhanced, allowing users to point, click, and erase entire objects from their images, streamlining the editing process.
Additionally, Document Templates will provide professionally designed layouts for various projects, and Face Restoration in Edit will bring cutting-edge facial enhancement to Photo RAW 2025.
The new Edit Camera Profiles dialog will allow photographers to fine-tune the default colors their cameras produce, allowing for greater customization of color. This feature will be great for those looking to adjust certain color nuances, like making reds more saturated or shifting greens to enhance foliage.
Improved Perspective Correction tools will also be introduced, making it easier to adjust horizontal and vertical keystoning while automatically scaling photos to prevent transparent corners. This improvement ensures that users always have a full layer of pixels.

Rumors from China suggest that DJI and Huawei have partnered to work on a new camera system equipped with HiSilicon chips:
"According to Fast Technology on March 6, as two of the most shining representatives among Chinese technology companies, if Huawei cooperates with DJI to launch products, are you looking forward to it?
Some netizens revealed that Huawei may join hands with DJI to enter the SLR camera market, which will be equipped with HiSilicon chips. The combination of the two parties will have a strong impact on traditional SLR camera brands such as Nikon, Canon, Sony and other companies.
The leak mentioned that DJI has strong technical strength in the field of drones and will apply its unique advanced anti-shake technology and intelligent flight shooting mode to SLR cameras. Huawei has rich experience and technology in the field of mobile phone photography, which can bring better image quality and more convenient operation experience." (Google trwnslation from Mydrivers)
The upcoming DJI Mavic 4 drone imaging module was spotted with two mirrorless cameras attached on each side (Sony A7IV & Panasonic S5II?) - the drone camera is on top; on the bottom, you can see the camera of the current DJI Mavic 3 Pro model. Are the Fujifilm full-frame camera rumors clickbait or reality? FujiAddict has an answer:
Fujifilm “finally” releasing a full-frame camera is floated every couple of years for clicks since a portion of photographers believe that full frame is the best thing since sliced bread, but Fujifilm always strongly denies these rumors. In fact only a few years ago, Fujifilm said, “Full Frame Will Never Happen So Stop Asking!“, which is understandable since the introduction of the GFX.
A far more interesting move by Fujifilm would be to bring back Super CCD EXR technology with X-Trans for the X and GFX cameras since the technology is known for its high resolution, high sensitivity, and high dynamic range. Rotating the pixels of an X-Trans sensor 45 degrees would allow for the doubling of resolution, sensitivity, and dynamic range so Fujifilm’s 40-megapixel sensor would deliver 80 megapixels with a dynamic range better than the Fujifilm GFX. If applied to the GFX it would allow Fujifilm to completely surpass companies like PhaseOne.
Sensor size isn’t everything and Fujifilm could pay Sony, Samsung, or someone else to manufacture a Super CCD EXR X-Trans sensor, but it would represent a substantial investment by Fujifilm to become a reality, but at least it would be something new instead of copying what others are doing. Fujifilm has always done its own thing in photography and I hope that continues for a long time to come.
The new Type II series’ exterior design has several improvements, including a reversible lens hood. This new release explains why the previous versions were recently discontinued:
The new 2024 5DayDeal photography bundle is now available – as with previous years, you will get a package of different photography tools drastically reduced (95% off courses & plugins). Several different bundles are available, and a portion of the sales will go to charities:
Just like the Leica Q3 43, Phase One announced a new 150MP XC camera with a longer built-in Rodenstock 40mm f/4 lens (the XC camera used to come only with a 23mm lens):
