Compact cameras are experiencing a comeback, and Canon is currently the leader in Japan in that category.

Compact fixed-lens cameras are becoming more popular, while interchangeable-lens cameras are starting to lose their popularity

The new PowerShot Elph 360 HS A model Canon introduced recently is just a rebadged 10-year-old camera that now sells for almost double the price (they did not even bother to upgrade to USB-C).

Canon is also increasing the production of the PowerShot G7 X III compact camera (announced back in 2019).

The new Canon PowerShot V1 and two other compact cameras will be in short supply

Canon recently acknowledged “the popularity of compact cameras“:

BCN Rankings published the latest compact camera manufacturers’ sales volume, and Canon is currently the leader:

Nikon and Sony have already implemented two price increases due to Trump's tariffs:
