The latest Leica rumors

After the recent Leica SL3 camera and Leica Summilux-M 35 f/1.4 in black anodized limited edition lens announcements, here is an updated list/recap of expected/rumored Leica cameras and lenses (see all previous reports here):

Leica D-Lux 8.
Leica M11-D black paint.
Leica Q-E entry-level camera (just like with the Leica M-E).
Leica M interchangeable lens camera with built-in EVF (Leica RM?)
More Leica M lenses are expected to be announced/refreshed in order to take full advantage of the new 60MP sensor. Thanks to the success of the latest legacy/heritage lenses and the M6, Leica is also working on more lenses based on old releases.
Leica L-mount lens rumors:
For the Leica M 70th-anniversary in 2024, Leica is expected/rumored to release the next generation of Leica watches. A new Leica L3 watch with a mechanical alarm complication is a possibility.
Leica mirrorless medium format camera (scheduled for 2025-2026).

Leica D-Lux 7 camera

Leica is rumored to announce a new Leica D-Lux 8 camera this summer. The interesting rumor here is that the D-Lux 8 will be sold only by Leica and there will not be an equivalent Panasonic LX100 camera. This explains why the new D-Lux 8 is labeled as Type 3952A (the D-Lux 7 was Type 3952).

The Leica D-Lux 8 will not have an APS-C sensor and a fixed prime lens (obviously)

The last Leica D-Lux 7 model was announced in 2018 and is already discontinued at Adorama, Amazon, and B&H Photo.

LeicaRumors reports about a video posted by LovelightTV of their visit to Leitz Park. At the 12:10 minute mark of the video, the Leica representative confirmed the already rumored Leica S mirrorless medium format mirrorless camera:

Mirrorless medium format
To be announced within 2 years
New mount and a new range of lenses
New adapters to mount the entire range of Leica lenses.

Here is the video and the translation:

"(le moyen format) Qui a été arrêté mais qui va avoir un successeur d’ici deux ans, c’est un scoop, voilà, alors ce sera un moyen format hybrid avec une nouvelle monture et une nouvelle gamme d’optique sud laquelle on pourra mettre des bagues d’adaptations pour mettre des optiques SL, des optiques M, toute la gamme des optiques Leica"

"The medium format, which has been discontinued but will have a successor within two years, (the guy: it is a scoop). So, it will be a hybrid medium format with a new mount and a new range of optics, for which adapters can be used to mount SL lenses, M lenses, and the entire range of Leica lenses.”
