Cosina will release a new Voigtlander brand RF-mount lens, NOKTON 75mm F1.5 Aspherical.
NOKTON 75mm F1.5 Aspherical is a large-diameter manual focus medium telephoto lens exclusively for Canon RF mount. It covers a full-size image circle and the optical design is optimized for Canon R system camera image sensors. It is designed to capture the performance of the lens itself as an image, without relying on the electronic lens optical correction function within the camera. This lens is equipped with electronic contacts to enable electrical communication between the lens and the body*1. In combination with the Canon EOS R system body, it supports Exif information, in-body image stabilization (3-axis)*2, and three types of focus assist functions (enlarged display, peaking, focus guide*3).
The lens configuration is 7 elements in 6 groups, and although it has a large aperture of F1.5, it is both compact and high performance. By using an aspherical lens, it exhibits excellent descriptive power even when the aperture is wide open. The focusing range of this lens at the maximum aperture of F1.5 at the minimum focusing distance of 0.5m is extremely shallow at approximately ±2mm, allowing you to enjoy large bokeh. On the other hand, if you use the same minimum focusing distance of 0.5m and the minimum aperture of F32, the focusing range will be approximately ±4cm, making it possible to achieve deep focus.
Focusing is for manual focus only, and the metal focus ring has a diamond pattern knurl with excellent grip. It provides a sense of stability even when attached to a commercially available video focus gear, and one of its features is a highly-precision metal helicoid that can withstand even severe focusing when the aperture is wide open, providing a silky, greased operating feel. The aperture is mechanically controlled and is directly connected to the control ring, and is adjusted on the lens side rather than the command dial on the camera side.
The aperture ring has a click switching mechanism that allows you to open and close the aperture steplessly without being affected by clicks, such as when shooting videos or making fine depth of focus adjustments. The number of aperture elements is 12, which is almost circular, and the synergistic effect of the large aperture of F1.5 and the slightly longer focal length makes it ideal for photographic expressions that "significantly blur the background", as well as out-of-focus areas of point light sources, etc. It is also depicted in a neat manner. This lens comes with a special screw-in metal lens hood.
