Panasonic Japan issued a statement apologizing for the inappropriate use of stock photos on the LUMIX product website.

Oh, and guess what? The Panasonic S9 camera will be in short supply becuase of high demand (wink wink):

Notification regarding delivery of the full-frame mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera DC-S9

Thank you for your continued patronage of Panasonic products.
We would like to sincerely apologize for the great concern and inconvenience caused by the inappropriate use of images from a stock photo service on the LUMIX product website.

Regarding the above, we have started accepting pre-orders for the new LUMIX DC-S9 full-frame mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera, which is scheduled to be released on June 20th, but we have received more pre-orders than we expected. Therefore, some customers who have pre-ordered may not be able to receive the product on the release date. In addition, for customers who make pre-orders in the future, it may take some time for the product to be delivered from the release date.

We would like to once again apologize for not meeting the expectations of our customers who were looking forward to the product and for the inconvenience caused.

We will make every effort to deliver your order as soon as possible in order to meet your expectations, and we appreciate your understanding.

Get used to the new marketing trick of camera companies: lottery system to allow you to buy the latest and greatest camera

Fujifilm was the first to implement this with the X1000VI if I am not mistaken, and now Ricoh is doing it as well with the new GR III HDF and GR IIIx HDF cameras:

"Sales will start from April 12th (Friday). RICOH GR III HDF/ RICOH GR IIIx HDF will be sold only at the official online store. However, access was concentrated on the day of delivery, making it difficult to connect, causing inconvenience to customers. Based on this, we regret to inform you that we will be selling items by lottery starting from the sale of items that arrive after Friday, May 17, 2024."

Ricoh Japan temporarily suspends orders for the new GR III HDF and GR IIIx HDF cameras, implements lottery system

A simple notice of a delay because of high demand is no longer good enough to show how superior a product is - now, we need a lottery system. Somebody in the marketing department got a promotion and a bonus for sure!
