The winners were selected during the annual General Assembly of TIPA members, which took place this year in Berlin (Germany). The Photographers’ Choice Awards will once again invite the public to participate in the selection process. Readers of TIPA member publications and online platforms will be able to vote for their preferred products in categories such as cameras, lenses, accessories, services, and technology and design. Starting May 1, voting will take place on www.tipa.com, and the results will be revealed during the official TIPA World Awards Ceremony at Imaging World, Nuernberg (Germany).

Freefly, a Seattle-based company known for its high-end cameras, joined the L-Mount Alliance today as its 11th member. This also means they will announce new L-mount products at the 2026 NAB show, which starts next week. Here are the details:

Wetzlar, 17th April 2026. Freefly is the newest member of the L-Mount Alliant, making it the 11th company to join since the public announcement of the L-Mount standard in 2018. The alliance consists of founding members Leica Camera AG, SIGMA, and Panasonic, as well as Ernst Leitz Wetzlar GmbH, DJI, ASTRODESIGN, SAMYANG Optics, Blackmagic Design, SIRUI and VILTROX. This collaboration enables Freefly to develop products with the L-Mount which will present great benefits for a wide range of photo and video applications.

The L-Mount was developed by Leica Camera AG with the aim of providing customers with a future-proof, flexible, robust and precise bayonet mount that would fulfil even the most demanding photographic needs. Since its initial appearance, development of the L-Mount was continued by Leica as well as by its strategic partners. Sigma is rumored to release a new 65mm ultra-fast aperture autofocus lens in September. The lens is supposed to be faster than f/1.2, according to camerainsider, who has provided valid information in the past. My guess is it will be a new 65mm f/1.0 or 65mm f/1.1.

The lens will be announced during the company’s 65th-anniversary celebrations in September.

• Larger sensors: Expected across the lineup (teasers show cinematic macro, natural bokeh, and shallow depth-of-field shots that go far beyond typical action-cam footage).

Here are some speculations on what Panasonic could announce for the 25th anniversary of LUMIX in 2026:

• LUMIX S1H II: a long-overdue true successor to the S1H with 6K/8K internal recording, ProRes RAW, advanced cooling, pro connectivity (IP control, etc.), and cinema-grade tools in a compact mirrorless body. This would directly address community requests and position LUMIX strongly in the pro video market.
• LUMIX S9 II: A compact full-frame camera with hot shoe/EVF improvements.
• LUMIX S5 III or S5R: a new flagship model equipped with a new generation of AI AF system.
• LUMIX LX100 III: a successor to the popular premium compact. Expected updates to sensor/processor, EVF, touchscreen, and modern video features. Ties directly to LUMIX’s compact-camera origins and the current “compact renaissance.”
• Micro Four Thirds revival (e.g., GM5 successor or GX9 III): Panasonic has not announced a MFT camera since 2024 (Panasonic LUMIX GH7 and Panasonic LUMIX G97).
• Special anniversary edition camera: a limited-edition camera with special badging – Panasonic has done similar things for past milestones.
